My Favorite Hair Products & Tools

I love beauty products and when I find something that works, I’m a loyal fan. I was the Business Manager for a high-end salon in Atlanta before I started my business and have had the opportunity to try many different product lines, from top of the line professional brands to more budget-friendly lines. I do believe that most of the time, you get what you pay for with hair products.

With that being said, I’ve included several hair goodies, from shampoo and conditioner to volumizing products, that can meet a variety of needs and budgets. Throw away that old generic shampoo bottle and say hello to your new gorgeous, healthy locks!

Warning: These Hair Products Might Change Your Life

Shampoo & Conditioner

My go-to shampoo is Kerastase Densifique Bain Densité. The gentle cleaning ability leaves hair light and fresh, but I love its addition of hyaluronic acid that volumizes limp hair.

A close second is Rene Furterer Okara Mild Silver shampoo, perfect for women with platinum-blond, white, or gray hair because of its violet tints that keep hair from looking brassy. It also has Vitamin E to keep your hair protected in the sun.

For a less expensive brand, I like this new L’Oreal Elvive Total Repair (which isn’t a surprise as L’Oreal owns Kerastase!). It works to repair damaged hair with protein and ceramide while it cleans!

For conditioner, Kerastase Nutritive Lait Vital is my go-to. I have fine hair and my roots are super greasy (lovely!). This is a really light conditioner; not heavy at all but works so well.

If you’re going with the L’Oreal Elvive Total Repair shampoo, you can use the L’Oreal Elvive Total Repair Conditioner, which creates the perfect budget-friendly duo for polished, healthy hair.

Volume, Texture, and Shine

For use on wet hair before I style, I love Kerastase Résistance Ciment Thermique and Kerastase Nutritive Nectar Thermique (my stylist recommends this one because of my hair type but I love the Ciment). They both help protect hair against breakage, frizz, split-ends, and other damage caused by frequent heat-styling.

Since I’ve been “blessed” with fine hair, I like to get a boost from Oribe Maximista Thickening Spray. Spray it on damp hair before blow-drying to give your hair some extra texture and volume.

Bumble and Bumble Invisible Oil is a little less expensive than the Kerastase Thermiques, but still gives some solid heat protection on damp hair before you style.

So you’ve dried and styled your hair and now want to finish the look. That’s where these two awesome products come in.

If I’m going to curl my [clean] hair or if I just need some texture, I use Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray. It doesn’t leave any residue or weird texture in my hair, but instead leaves it looking full at my roots where I need it most.

Bumble and Bumble Invisible Oil Finishing Spray – I always finish with this. It is a secret weapon. Spray it on your styled hair for some extra conditioning and shine all day.

Dry Shampoo

I don’t know what I would do without some dry shampoo in my life. I try to go a couple of days between washes so I don’t strip all the nourishing oil out of my hair, so dry shampoo can save my roots from looking greasy on those non-wash days.

On day 2 (and 3, if I make it that far…Remember, oily roots), I use Rene Furterer Naturia Dry Shampoo – this is my favorite dry shampoo. It smells incredible and I feel like it lasts the longest in my hair.

I’ll also run the Bumble and Bumble Invisible Oil Finishing Spray I mentioned above through my ends to smooth everything over and make it look like I just styled everything again.

I also like the Living Proof Perfect Hair Day (PhD) Dry Shampoo and the Drybar Detox Dry Shampoo, which are a little less expensive, but still get the job done!

Tools

My styling tools are so necessary for my overall look, so I wanted to share with you the ones I use every time I style. They help me get flawless looking hair every single time without spending hours on my hair.

I got this blow dryer for Christmas and I am in love: Drybar Buttercup Blow Dryer. It comes with two nozzles – a narrow and a wide – to match your needs for your specific style. This powerful little thing is super lightweight and I love that it has conditioning nano beads that condition my hair as I dry it!

T3 Whirl Trio Interchangeable Styling Wand – this is a splurge but it is BAD A**. I love it. You’re basically getting three tools in one: Two different-sized straight barrels and one tapered barrel to make different waves and curls for various looks. It’s so versatile and helps me change up my style without needing ten different tools.

If you want a flat iron that not only straightens hair but can also make beautiful waves like a champ, try the BaBylissPRO Nano Titanium Ultra-Thin Straightening Iron. It has extended plates for super fast straightening, but it’s also narrow, so you can use it to create natural-looking waves. The titanium plates keep everything smooth, so you won’t have frizz to worry about!

Now you know what my fave hair products are (and I hope they work just as well for you!). I want to hear about yours too! Leave me a comment and let me know what shampoos, conditioners, heat-styling products, tools, and other hair goodies you can’t live without.
