Winter Looks I Love: A Winter Fashion Buying Guide
When it comes to winter fashion, I love anything that’s cozy and comfy and still counts as putting myself together!
Below, I’ve gathered up some of the sweaters, pants, accessories, and shoes that I’m sticking in my winter fashion wardrobe this year and hopefully you’ll find some cold weather inspiration.
But first, I want to share a few styling tips for winter that have helped me create a beautiful, timeless winter wardrobe that’s also versatile and comfortable:
- Layering is your friend. Seriously – to me, a winter wardrobe isn’t a winter wardrobe without the ability to layer. Your winter closet should have a good mix of short and long sleeve tops, sweaters, ponchos, and jackets to help you layer according to the weather. Cold in the morning, warm in the afternoon…winter’s funny like that sometimes, but at least your outfit will be prepared.
- Mix up your jacket styles. If you want your winter outfits to be as versatile as possible (as in, you can move seamlessly from work to kid practices to school functions), then focus on your jackets. Look for a few different jacket styles – blazers, peacoats, puffers, etc. – that you can easily interchange…Again, layering is awesome for winter.
- Accessories can make (or break) your outfits. Hats, gloves, scarves, earrings, handbags can boost the look of a full outfit on their own. You can dress up or dress down an outfit with your accessories so don’t forget ‘em!
Now, for some winter fashion!
Tops
Slub tee (these are my fave and SO great for layering. Consider this a neutral.)
Bottoms
Pencil jeans (I’m not a tiny girl and I LOVE the way these fit.)
Scarves
Jackets and Ponchos
Poncho (this is pricey, yes, but oh so good!)
Boots
These pieces can add just the right touch to your winter fashion this season, to add some sparkle and coziness to your wardrobe. Are there any winter fashion ideas – trends, cute pieces, styling tips, etc. – you’d like to share? Drop them in the comments below!
