St. Patrick’s Day for Kids: Simple (Inexpensive) Ways to Make it Fun

St. Patrick’s Day might technically be for the Irish, but it’s no secret that people everywhere love to celebrate the holiday.

With rainbows, four-leaf clovers, and gold galore, St. Patrick’s Day is a super fun, relatively low-key holiday for the wee little ones.

And if you’re anything like me…You love to surprise your babies with a little something special without going all Real Housewives about it.

These St. Patrick’s Day ideas for kids are simple and inexpensive crafts, treats, and activities that’ll let them enjoy the holiday with you.

Magical Food Creations

I scoured the Interwebs for clever ideas and there truly are so many fun treats to make with the kids for St. Patty’s Day!

I mean….rainbow pancakes? These are a perfect breakfast treat for the kids (and let’s be honest…Me) to wake up to (so colorful!).

Later in the day, you can try this green apple sorbet for a deliciously refreshing drink and pair it with a sweet and salty crunch, like this St. Patrick’s Day Leprechaun Popcorn.

Fun and Festive Wearables

Most little ones have fun dressing up for special occasions for school, and naturally Target doesn’t disappoint.

Have you heard of Cat & Jack from Target? They have some of the cutest and unique clothing for kids, so it’s no surprise that they’ve come out with some adorable St. Patty’s Day goodies, too. I love this “Lucky” shirt for boys and this four-leaf clover pullover for girls. I’ve found that this line uses quality materials so consider sizing up so they can use it next year too!

There’s also this witty one for boys or girls that says “Here for the Shenanigans.”

Adorable Gifts

St. Patrick’s Day isn’t generally a gift-giving day, but kids in lower school grades sometimes have parties where they pass around treats and have fun activities set up. Or, you might want to just give your little ones something special for the day! Need some treat ideas? Check these out:

And then there’s this scavenger hunt, which can give kids an exciting way to find their goodies hidden in a special treasure box!

Crafty Activities

These St. Patrick’s Day Crafts are simple and fun for kids of all ages to make – and you can even use some of them to decorate!

Younger kids will love this St. Patty’s sensory bottle with festive confetti and other decorations that they can watch float and move through the bottle. You can also try this Pot ‘O’ Gold Slime recipe for some real fun (let me know how that goes for ya!)!

Older kids might enjoy making rainbow suncatchers or rainbow shaving cream marbled art. Cool, right?
